Scooter is a Lhasa-Poodle mix who was born without his front legs. As soon as Scooter was born, its owners surrendered him to the shelter. The staff of the shelter had to work on their own to figure out how to mange this situation. The think is, Scooter was born with a physical disability. It made it a lot harder for him to get adopted to the real world. He is different from the other dogs, but that doesn’t mean that he can’t make it. Physical disabilities are very common nowadays not only for animals, but for people too. We have all witnessed many cases when people with physical disabilities have thrived, and succeeded just like the others. Same with little Scooter here.
The staff of the shelter is saying that at twelve-weeks old Scooter is able to get himself around. He pushes himself with the back legs, and scoots across the floor with his chest. It is a little bit difficult to move around fast, or to do other activities, but he can make it. They took him to the rehab so he could get some extra help. Right now they are trying to get him to move around and push himself on a custom-made cart. It is not that easy, but it is not impossible either.
As the doctor says Scooter has his permit right now, and all he needs is the license. That means that he has shown himself, and his determination. He can do it, he can do everything, it will just take a little bit of time. It is not easy to live life with just two legs. We all should show some love for this puppy and that fighter spirit he has. I guess we can all learn a little bit from him. NEVER GIVE UP is what Scooter is saying to all of us. Please share and show some support for this little buddy!
