These are the types of stories that really put a smile on our faces. When animals like Bailey are in desperate need of help, they rarely find a helping hand or any form of consideration. Most families do not want to adopt an animal of his age, and 11 is thought to be old for a dog.
We often hear older people ranting and raving about “the kids of today” and how they do not show enough compassion for the well being of others. If you’re one of those who believes that today’s generation only cares about likes on social media, then this story is a must see.
Audrey Higgins is a 15 year old girl and she is not like most teenage girls that you will meet. She decided that she wanted to become a foster mother, as a 15th birthday present to herself. While most kids her age are thinking about the car that they are going to ask for when they turn 16, Audrey is using her special day to improve the life of a special dog.
Bailey is not just your typical 11 year old schnauzer, he is also blind and was abandoned after his family was no longer able to handle his unique condition. Louie’s Legacy Animal Rescue took him in once he was surrendered and his situation did not look promising. They tried their absolute best to find a foster home for Bailey, but did not have any luck in doing so.
From the looks of it, no one was willing to come forward, step up and provide this dog with the second chance he deserved most. But Audrey came along at the perfect moment and rescued Bailey from a very uncertain future. Her selflessness should serve as an inspiration to us all.
