Dog Is Struck By Car Chasing After The “Family” Who Dumped Him

Six out of ten households have a dog as a pet. Little wonder as to why they are referred to as ‘man’s best friend’. Getting a dog could be a thrilling experience for anybody; especially kids and the joy and thrilling experiences these dogs give us could be very hard to forget.

When a situation arises where we have to part ways with our little friends it can be very difficult. Most caring individuals ensure they do everything possible to get their dogs a new home that would show them as much love and care as they have been used to getting.

There are also some people who abandon their dogs at odd places or probably kick them out of the house; some even go as far as killing the dog. This was the case for a really cute shepherd mix who was pushed out of a Jeep by his owners. He immediately ran to the driver’s side of the vehicle and was again pushed away. Apparently, the poor pooch was being dumped by the side of the road and he didn’t understand why. After dropping the pooch the vehicle sped off and the dog, not wanting to be left behind, chased after the speeding vehicle. As he gave chase to the moving vehicle, he got hit by another car coming from the opposite direction.

The good news is that the dog only sustained minor bruises from the accident and is currently receiving care at the local veterinary hospital. The brave mutt will be in the local vet until he’s ready to be adopted by someone who will take care of him properly; giving him all the love and care he deserves.

At the moment, a reward has been put up for anyone who can provide valid information that would lead to an arrest of the individuals involved. People with information that would be of help are requested to call Suffolk County SPCA at 631-382-7722. Please be kind enough to share the news and get the word out.

The fact is, if pet owners are not ready to provide and care for their pets, then they shouldn’t bother getting one in the first place. And if you have to part ways with a pet for any reason at all, then do the right thing and find a new home that would take good care of the pet.
